"Sendok" was one of the common mistakes when I took Malay in Sec 3 here. Another one was "bisa" (vs "boleh").</description>

Well the difference is that I could have just used Indonesian language (my first language) altogether and I would be OK (Malay and Indonesian languages are largely mutually intelligible, as long as you speak slowly).

The problem is that I panicked and filled in English words instead, which made my conversation probably unintelligible to the poor girl.</description>
