Unlimited Disk Space Available on cPanelThis is pretty interesting. My server’s control panel (called cPanel) keeps on saying that I have unlimited disk space available. And it has been like that since Christmas. At first I thought it was some Christmas bug/gift from the people at the hosting company, but then it has lasted till today. I haven’t tried it, though, since I’m on dial-up, and it would be a waste of money to upload some big things just to test the server (it took me a few hours to upload the 24 MB prom night gallery). It’s a good thing if it’s true, since that would mean I can store all the photographs at full quality for as long as I want, instead of using the current system where I have to down-size the full quality after a while!

Just heard of another death in the town.

A few weeks ago, a friend of my uncle’s died, probably due to some heart problem (coroner heart disease if I’m not mistaken). And the death was so sudden. He was playing tennis with my uncle when he suddenly sat down on the court and complained of vertigo. A while later he lay down, and started to have difficulty breathing. My uncle tried to aid him with CPR, but he started losing consciousness, and was carried to the nearest “People’s Health Centre” (I don’t know how to translate it into English, but it’s called “Pusat Kesehatan Masyarakat” or “Puskesmas” here. It’s like a very very small polyclinic serving small towns or small areas.) By then it was too late.

This time it hits the father of my sister’s primary school friend. It’s quite scary, because it’s a sudden death too. From what dad told us, he was at home when he died, although the details of how he died was still a mystery to us.

Oh, by the way, a gas explosion did happen at my house, albeit a small one. Mum was using the showers when she accidentally pushed a slider on the shower head, which stopped the flow of water out. Now, the thing with some gas water heaters is that to switch it off, you have to turn off the water inlet, not the water outlet. So what happened next is that water stopped flowing in the system, but the fire was still burning in the heater. Fire + No flow of water = Heat building up in the heater. And this somehow caused the gas inlet hose to somehow be released from where it should be. So this released gas into the air. And Gas + Fire = Explosion.

So that’s what happened, although somehow the fire was not too big to reach the gas tank, and somehow the fire died off before it could reach any other flammable objects. And luckily Mum survived with no major injuries at all, except maybe the slight reddenning of the skin exposed to the fire.

Well… Maybe I’ll just end with something that I think too many have already said for the effect to be there: Life is precious. You can even die tomorrow or even later today for some funny (or not so funny) reasons. So don’t waste it.
