OMG I’m 20 Already?
While I’ve always been laughing at people who turn 20, I missed out the fact that I, too, do grow older. So when I turned 20 today, I was the one who was welcomed to the world of the ‘kepala dua’s (literally meaning ‘double-headed’ but actually refers to the number 2 as the first digit of the age).
Special thanks to Halim and Leroy for organising the celebration, and to (in no particular order) Vidy, Mbah Chan, Helen, Kemal, Henche, Anes-and-Enry (thanks Nes), Vera, Made, Nurman, Icha, Arlene, Yongky, Hans, Moja, Herry and Eddy for actually taking the time to be there. (Did I miss out anyone?) Thanks a bunch, guys! Sorry about the aquaphobic me! X-(
In fact, it was one of the few times that my birthday was actually celebrated like this after I graduated from primary school… Come to think of it… I think it was probably the first time ever since elementary school (we don’t call it primary school in Indonesia)… Since I entered junior high school, ‘celebration’ means treating some of my best friends–and that doesn’t happen every year either… Because my family in Indonesia doesn’t celebrate birthdays, and here in Singapore my birthday usually falls on the holidays (March one-week break in Secondary School and JC)… Wow, that’s quite a long time, man!
Anyway… Thanks to Udo and Halim (again) for the pencilcase! Love it!
Also thanks to all the 14 people who SMS’d me, 13 people who MSN’d me, one person who sent me an online greeting card, one person who sent me an email, one person who called me (through Leroy’s phone), and of course, not to forget, those who wished me birthday personally and those belated birthday wishes. Thank you, thank you all!
Not to forget Care2.com who automatically sends me a greeting card every year without fail and various other spammers who somewhat-disturbingly obtained my birthday. Thanks!
