Love Bite Part 2
Dear Diary,
Thought of updating you on my ‘Love’ Bite (if you don’t know what I’m talking about read this entry).
This morning at around 1 AM, I was playing Literati in Yahoo! Games with Zie Aun. That was when I felt something was wrong. There was some warmth within me. I realised that it couldn’t be anything good. It couldn’t be some anxiety. It couldn’t be effects of alcohol since I didn’t take any alcoholic drinks in the past few months. It couldn’t be the l feeling (heck, how can you be when you’re concentrating making words out of a set of 7 letters and a board in front of you?) So after the game had finished I decided to stop playing and went to bed.
Before I fell asleep, I checked my temperature. It was somewhere around 37.2 °C.
Sleep didn’t come to me easily. For a couple of times I was in a state of the boundary between consciousness and unconsciousness but I always in a way or the other snap back to the conscious world.
Finally, I decided I shouldn’t take any chances, and thus I shall go with Mom and Sis to Bogor, where I can go and visit a doctor there. I should be able to get a diagnosis by the end of today, before which I shall update this blog. If you don’t hear anything from me by the end of today… please pray for me.
It might not be dengue. It might be just flu. Heck, it might even be just due to irregular sleeping time. But in any case, with the numbers of people being victims of the deadly disease in Indonesia, my family and I don’t want to take any chances.
On a lighter issue, there was one weird observation I noticed on the two thermometers available in my house. Just a moment ago, I decided to check my temperature again.
According to my old thermometer (the one given by the Singaporean government during the SARS outbreak) my temperature was around 35.4 °C. I checked my temperature using a newer thermometer, and it registered 36.5 °C.
The old thermometer was running out of battery, and I just drank a cup of water. So I decided to wait for a while before taking another reading.
This time, the old thermometer read 35.2 °C, and the new one recorded 38.7 °C. I don’t know how on earth I can get that temperature when Mom told me I felt okay to her touch.
On the third try, the old thermometer told me I was 36.5 °C and the newer one said 37.2 °C.
I gave up. I shall go to the doctor today.
Could be sick,
