Let’s PLAY!

About half-an-hour ago, I approached this cute lady behind the counter in Wisma Atria.

Hi, can I have a pair of tickets for the PLAY! concert?
Sure, what play?
Uh…
Oh, you mean it’s the name?
Yeah!

Ten minutes later, I was the proud owner of the pair of tickets.

PLAY! A Video Game Symphony
From the creative team that brought you the ground breaking Dear Friends-Music from FINAL FANTASY Symphony Tour, comes an entirely new celebration of video game music and images:

PLAY! A Video Game Symphony is a Symphony world-tour featuring music from blockbuster video games. The music is performed by some of the finest, world-class orchestras and choirs. All concerts take place in classy, prestigious venues. Graphics on large screens suspended above the orchestra accompany the scores, highlighting memorable moments from the video games.

The concert tour started off in North America on May 27, 2006 in Chicago, followed by a sold out show in Europe. PLAY! is embarking on a world tour.

The tickets will be for Circle 2 seating area (Cat. 5), which is not the best, but better than some seats which are further away or restricted (i.e. Cat. 10). Plus it’s the cheapest I could get. Plus the other categories are sold out already.

Actually, it would have been cheaper if only the Singapore Arts Festival removed the rule that students can only buy one ticket at a time to enjoy a 20% discount. The rule only caused uncertainties when a group of students want to enjoy the privilege while being seated together, i.e. someone else might just grab the preferred seat online or at another Sistic outlet.

Anyone else going for the concert?

Update: Nicole reminded me to mention that the concert was mentioned in Ping.sg forum, but we got the tickets first because it’s selling like hot cakes.

Oh, and she also requested the photo, so here you go:
