hello…
i haven’t blogged in quite a while. the reason for that is that there’s a lack of decent connection at school and at the boarding school. i have soooo many things to talk about. both good and bad. but yet, the sheer amount of things to talk about makes me lazy to talk about it. and moreover, the connection here is very slow! it takes me, like, a few minutes just to open my mail. so, let’s see my mood first later. if i’m in the mood and if i have time, i’ll go talk about it offline, then upload it one day. if not, then too bad.
ok, maybe for now i’ll just tell you that i just bought the celtic tenors’ and aselin debison’s cds. celtic tenors’ is called ‘irish album’ while aselin’s is ’sweet is the melody’.
hey, i didn’t know that the official tag for italics in html is <em>! I always thought it was <i>! but anyway…
the tenors’ voices are lovely. they have a perfect harmonisation. not to mention nice songs too. they have a perfect blend of sounds and music. one particular one that i like is called ‘Fionnghuala’. It’s an a capella scottish song. their harmonisation is just nice… ok fine, my vocabulary is not so good so as to convey the idea of what i mean. i’ll go upload the song one day and you listen for yourself. the others that i like include ‘Whiskey in the Jar’, an fast-paced song which is supposed to be irish but sounds more cowboy-ey, as a friend puts it. i also like ‘The Fields of Athenry’, and ‘The Town I Loved So Well’. Those are my favorites, but the rest are equally good.
aselin’s voice has some quality which i’m yet to identify… something which i really like. although she sometimes sounds like someone who sings with her nose shut… and the songs are somewhat refreshing too. unlike normal teenage songs (she’s only 12), her songs don’t really include things like love, violence, or exaggerated romance (ok, i forgot what the things are… they’re from gp mock exam paper, a.k.a. rjc promos 2002). in fact, i first thought her songs are christian songs, although they’re definitely not. the ones i like are ‘Moonlight Shadow’, and ‘Medley: Somewhere Over The Rainbow/What A Wonderful World’.
Oh, by the way, go and listen to Sarah Brightman’s ‘What A Wonderful World’. The song is rendered so lively… Especially the chorus part. The part that says something like ‘I see friends shaking hands, saying :”How do you do?” They’re really saying, “I love you.”‘ Lovely…
Hmm… ok, that’s it for today. see ya!
