Dreams are amazing… Virtually anything
Dreams are amazing… Virtually anything can happen in one.
Well, three days ago I dreamt that I was receiving my ‘A’ Levels results. It was Mr. P who gave out the results, and he spoke Indonesian with a fluent Sundanese accent! (Sundanese is the mother tongue of the West Java province where I’m from) Anyway, he gave out the results, and instead of results slip, he gave me the actual answer scripts, with the score written using a red marker pen on the upper margin of the first sheet!
I got a 10, 9 and 8.5 for the three subjects that I take (I don’t what happened to the other subject… I presume it’s marked using Indonesian system where the highest score you can get is 10). But the next thing that I got disappointed me as I realised that I only got a 4.5 for General Paper, which is a fail under Indonesian system!
That’s it for the three-days-old dream.
Now for last night’s dream: I dreamt that I was back in Singapore. (See? I’m starting to miss Singapore already) I was watching a show together with everyone else from the same cohort as I am in ACJC! It was in a place that I called the ‘Shaw House’ in the dream. It had a big, circular escalator connecting the first storey and the fifth!
Everyone from the cohort was there, and was wearing those beautiful clothes that you saw during prom. It was a wonderful feeling, seeing everyone again. I remembered seeing some of the classmates there… Some of the people I got to know only in ACJC… The couples who were no longer couples, and the non-couples who became couples… I remembered seeing the certain she too, in exactly the same dress she wore during prom…
Then after the show, I lost my shoes. (don’t ask me how I lost them) And I realised this only after exiting the building! So I went back inside, and wore my sandals. (don’t ask me how I got them) But it was to no avail. The trip to the sixth storey, where the theatre was was a difficult one. On the way up, JS (the one from the Arts) went to close my eyes and held me on the circular escalator, so I was back on the first storey. Then I tried taking another escalator, but somehow this escalator only goes up half-a-storey at a time, so I had to take the escalator so many more times than usual!
Upon reaching the theatres, they were already locked, so I decided that I would report to the Lost and Found department. And then a loud thunderclap was heard, and I woke up… Stupid, stupid thunder!
Dreams are amazing, aren’t they?
