Boxing Day
Happy Boxing Day to everyone! So what exactly is Boxing Day? That question has plagued me ever since I came to hear of the term when I started schooling in Singapore.
Thanks to Wikipedia, now I know what it is.
Boxing Day is a day to celebrate the invention of boxer shorts.
Boxing Day is a public holiday observed in many Commonwealth countries on 26 December. In many European countries it is also a holiday, called St Stephen’s Day or the Second Day of Christmas. Depending on its origin, it may have traditionally been strictly defined as the first weekday after Christmas. However over the past few decades, Boxing Day has been almost universally accepted as the 26th December, although its associated public holiday may fall on a different day.

There is no better way to celebrate Boxing Day than a meeting for Digital DESIGN ‘06, of which I am a vice-chairperson. The Gal is the Publications Manager, but she was absent as she already had plans for the day.
The meeting was followed by lunch at Swensen’s, but only with four people. I had a wonderful serving of Fish and Sh*ts Chips and Tango Mango yoghurt, which was so filling that I couldn’t finish it.
After lunch, I went to meet The Gal near Tampines MRT station, and we explored Century Square, before proceeding with dinner at S-11 food court nearby.
Very smart, hor, eat dinner right after eating a late lunch. The result: I couldn’t finish my Curry Chicken Chop Hor Fun. The curry is so nice! So rich and spicy… But very filling.
Then we went to The Gal’s house. This time, I didn’t freeze when meeting The Gal’s mum! Yay!
As it turned out, I got along quite well with The Gal’s mum, and my freezing the other day was baseless. I stayed there for about an hour or so, but didn’t really talk to The Gal’s dad.
Meeting The Gal’s family was definitely easier than what I had thought.
The Guy,

PS: Yes, The Gal’s mum and dad are still kept in the dark.

Was Christmas Eve the first time you met The Gal’s parents?

nxva: Nope, I didn’t meet The Gal’s dad on Christmas Eve. Only The Gal’s mum.
