Tired…

I’m. Simply. Tired.

Cusses under the breath: Why on earth do non-designers not trust designers?

A Love Letter

Tuesday, February 21st, 2006

My dearest,

With the light of love as my guide, the feather of angels as my pen, and the blood of Aphrodite as ink, I weave my thoughts for you.

How my body sweats and trembles with desire, when my thoughts turn to drinking the sweet nectar from your full lips, which is sweeter then the honey dripping from the lips of the Goddess Aphrodite herself.

What manner of creature can resist your lovely mysterious black eyes which remind me of those cute black bears. No, I’m not calling you hairy or anything. I’m just saying your eyes look like those bears. I know they are hairy, but you are not.

I admire the way you brush your lovely brown hair, and its funny when your hair collects static and stands on end. It reminds me of a cute little hedgehog, or even one of those little troll dolls!

You know I love sitting on the couch with you and cuddling. Its been something which has meant a lot to me despite you always firing ass-biscuits into the area where you are sitting, and causing the fabric to stink for 3 days. But I don’t mind because I know sitting on the couch and talking, brings us closer together and of course, a friend of mine recommended a great fabric spray, so all is well, my love.

Words alone cannot express how unique my love is for you. I love you, and you only, I swear that to you my love ….having said that I do love my MP3 player which I love listening to when you are not around. Come to think of it I listen to it when you are around too, but thats besides the point. My point is that I love you and my love for you is unique (isn’t it weird how the word ‘unique’ and ‘eunuch’ sound the same? The word Unix also sounds similar, but ‘Chimpanzee’ doesn’t)

I can’t remember if I’ve already told you this but I really do love your smile. Its such a turn on to look at and its one of the many reasons I love being with you my love. Sometimes I wish I could do nothing but stare at your smile all day, but I’m not sure that’s a good idea my love, as people will probably think I’m some kind of nut case and I might get taken away by the men in white coats.

Anyway darling, I must depart now. I really can’t wait to see you again, especially if you are gonna be wearing sexy White underwear for me! Go on, surprise me! I’ve often wondered what you would look like wearing those, and many a nights have gone by where I would sit and fantasise about you wearing White underwear and I would have no need to watch music videos any more.

I wish you a happy Valentines Day with every burning spark of lust, fired by flames of passion from my tender bleeding heart.

Eternally loving you, with flames of desire,

xxooxxooxx

Long Updates

Monday, February 20th, 2006

No time to blog… I’ve been very busy lately…

But before you start reading this entry, please fill up my Johari and Nohari Windows, because this entry might be longer than you expected.

My Johari Window

My Nohari Window

Here’s a short description of the Johari Window:

The Johari Window was invented by Joseph Luft and Harrington Ingram in the 1950s as a model for mapping personality awareness. By describing yourself from a fixed list of adjectives, then asking your friends and colleagues to describe you from the same list, a grid of overlap and difference can be built up.

And Nohari Window:

The Nohari Window is a challenging inversion of the Johari Window, using antonyms of the original words. By describing your failings from a fixed list of adjectives, then asking your friends and colleagues to describe you from the same list, a grid of perceived and unrecognised weaknesses can be explored.

Went with The Gal for dinner at Billy Bombers on Valentine’s Day. It was a four-course meal for couples, consisting of champagne, cream of asparagus, main course (I had grilled salmon fillet with avocado and diced papaya while The Gal had chicken fillet with ham and cheese. Both were served with potato wedges, baby carrots, and pasta), and chocolate cake with rum.

I have a new wallet from The Gal! :D Haha… So nice, finally I can replace the wallet which I’ve been using for the past five years. :P
Then last Wednesday I went to Institute of High Performance Computing with CM to negotiate with them an industrial visit from SIGGRAPH NTU. We managed to secure a time for the industrial visit, which would be done this coming Tuesday.

The place there is super cool… There’s this 3D visualisation facility called CAVE where we can immerse ourself in rich 3D virtual worlds modeled after the Fullerton Hotel, Esplanade Concert Hall, Changi Airport, and many others.

With the facility, we can virtually see the 3D world literally all around you, instead of just on a computer screen! If we’re lucky, we might even get a chance to play a DOOM-style first-person shooter game–in all its surround 3D glory!

IHPC is also currently developing a facility to allow an audience to view a 3D virtual world without any special goggles or devices, and we’ll get to see this technology first-hand!

And yes, those who are SIGGRAPH NTU members would have known that the bit above was taken directly from the email sent to all members informing them of the industrial tour. I’m that lazy.

On Thursday night, I collected two Graphire 4 tablets from CH, to be used by SIGGRAPH for Digital DESIGN ‘06 and kept for SIGGRAPH’s use later on. Whee! New toys!

Then on Friday, The Gal and I went to watch the sneak preview of Mrs. Henderson Presents. Thanks Nes for the tickets! Finally The Gal and I can take a rest after hectic weeks of school.

Hilarious and cheeky movie… M18 Rating… The Guy and I managed to watch the preview screening for free =) thanks to The Guy’s friend, who won the pair of tix but could not make it, thus she let The Guy take the tix and go instead… Thanks so much~!!!

Thus after a long draining day of school on friday, we went down to Plaza Singapura, skipping dinner and bought pop-corn and coke, with cheese hotdogs, and made a beeline to the threatre to get good seats, it so happens that the seating is free seating… which means, grab the seat which u like … haha…

The movie started promptly, lol… which was quite good, and generally the whole audience were mostly media and students like us…

Storyline is warm and nice, peppered with jokes and funny scenes, there is nudity involved, in the name of art, and the actors and actress carry the story very well. I shall not go into details, cos the movie will only be released on 23rd Feb.

I would strongly recommend you to watch this film. It brings a lot of laughter.

Haha… I give it 5 Stars out of 5.

To show my laziness, I even openly copied and pasted from The Gal’s blog.

Then I went home to The Gal’s home, where The Gal cooked dinner–instant noodles with egg. Simple but nice. :) Then it was also the first time I tried century egg.

Then on Saturday The Gal and I went to Fun-O-Rama. It’s good to visit your alma mater once again after so long. It was quite OK, standard funfair stuff. We bumped into a few of my old friends and teachers. Seemed like none of them changed over the years. :P
Then we went to Tanjong Pagar MRT, at first wanted to eat at Maxwell Food Centre. But alas, it was raining, so we changed plans and had dinner at Tampines Mall, where I had the most wonderful salted fish minced pork rice set, complete with vegetables and steamed egg. The Gal had beef noodles soup. On top of those, we had desserts–I had ice jelly while The Gal had cheng tng.

Then I went to The Gal’s house yet again (at this rate I might as well go to The Gal’s house everyday. :P) did some paperwork, had supper (thanks to The Gal’s Mum) gave The Gal a back massage (I’m worried of The Gal le… Take good care of yourself, ok?) and went home.

Then today (Sunday), I binged on games the entire day. I didn’t realise how long it was since I played games that much before.

Well, fill up other times not stated above with work, studies, more work, and more studies, and you get a picture of how my life is like.

Okie, this is a super long entry, so… Tata for now!

Crash

Friday, February 10th, 2006

My Windows XP just went kaput and spawned thousands of windows. Each tray icon came up with its own window! Check out that 340 MSN Messenger windows that came out of nowhere! Click on the picture to enlarge it.

Crash

On another totally unrelated note, I’m OK already. Apparently some bacteria or something decided to make my stomach (or intestines or whatever it is) their new home, thus the diarrhoea. They have since been coagulated with some disgusting smectite solution (I took clay as medicine!), and are probably on their way finding new home somewhere else, if not dead already. It probably doesn’t matter if they’re dead, since new bacteria are created exponentially anyway, and these new bacteria can infect other people just as well. Ah, well.

Sick

Saturday, February 4th, 2006

I’m currently down with some kind of sickness (flu?). Feeling so miserable… Fever but feels cold, headache, and stomachache.

And this stomachache is damn irritating, can? My stomach aches every few hours or so (sometimes even within 30 minutes) and all that came out (sorry) is just a few drops…

Sometimes I just wish I’m at home where Mum can take care of me… But I’m not a small boy anymore. I have to learn to take care of myself too.

I have so much work to do, and I still have to meet my grandaunt before she flies home next week. I haven’t even studied for my four quizzes on Valentine’s Day week!

Speaking of which, there goes Valentine’s Day celebration for The Guy and The Gal… :(
The Gal: I’ll make up for it somehow… I’m sorry…

Got to sleep soon…

Opera Mini

Friday, February 3rd, 2006

Opera Mini is one hell of a wonderful piece of software for Java-enabled phones, I tell you. Here I am on the MRT, on my way back from The Gal’s place, and I can blog! Too bad the maximum limit of characters in my phone is 400, so it’s quite limited. But i think it’s more of phone limitation than anything. Ok, till later!

Hocus Pocus

Wednesday, February 1st, 2006

Oh yes, pardon my manners…

I’d like to thank The Gal and The Gal’s parents to the feast that I was invited to yesterday. It was a really enjoyable meal! Love ya, Gal… :)
Anyway… As I’m clearing my 300-odd emails backdating from October, I found this article saying that Wikipedia is just as accurate as Britannica, one of the mostly-used source of reference out there.

I myself use Wikipedia a lot to help in my studies, especially in university. However, some of my friends have pointed out that Wikipedia, being editted by many users, may not be accurate. While I agree that the credibility of some authors can be doubted, the degree of peer review in Wikipedia makes sure that inaccurate entries, especially on popular topics, are weeded out quickly.

That said, the possibility of a Wikipedia article being inaccurate makes it not a suitable source for professional work such as journals, or for studies on obscure topics. But for general knowledge, and as a reference for popular topics such as Mathematics, Wikipedia is good enough to supplement the material given in the university.

So what do all these have to do with the title of the entry today? Well, The Gal’s nickname right now reads:

nicole (*) = hocus pocus..the keyword is focus… once u focus, everything seems easier though they are not =)

I really think I need to focus a lot if I want to succeed in my studies. I’ve known myself to be distracted very easily by a lot of things, especially when I’m in front of my PC.

That has to change, if I don’t want to suffer in the end.

Anyway… I’d better stop here otherwise The Gal wouldn’t be able to sleep because she’s waiting for me to publish this entry.

Tata!
